Welcome Remarks

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

On behalf of the organizing committee of Materials Challenges in Alternative and Renewable Energy 2022 (MCARE 2022), we extend a warm welcome and invite you to participate in this exciting and interdisciplinary conference. MCARE 2022, organized by the Korean Institute of Chemical Engineers (KIChE) and American Ceramic Society (ACerS), will be held in Busan, Korea, from August 22–26, 2022.

Building a sustainable energy system represents a contemporary mega-challenge that has triggered a quest for alternative energy solutions in both, academia and industry. MCARE 2022 explores the development of emerging materials for a sustainable global society and brings together leading global experts from academia, industry, R&D laboratories, and government agencies. MCARE aims to provide a unique platform that fosters the communication and collaboration essential for propelling multi-disciplinary dialogue on innovative and sustainable solutions in the field of alternative and renewable energy. This top-of-the-line conference will feature plenary and keynote sessions, invited lectures, thematically focused technical sessions, and poster presentations. It will thereby provide an opportunity to the delegates to network and exchange ideas with their professional peers and acclaimed experts.

MCARE 2022 will be formed with 11 symposiums including Hydrogen Fuel Production/ CO2 conversion, Electrochemical Energy Storage, Next Generation Photovoltaics, Fuel Cells/Electrolysis, Eco-friendly Electronic Device Applications Electromechanical Coupling Materials for Nanogenerators/Self-Powered Electronics, Super Ultra-Low Energy and Emission Vehicle, Green Ammonia Cycling, Semiconductor Nanocrystal Quantum Dots, Spectral Energy Conversion, and Advanced Biomaterials. In particular, we are delighted to have an honorary symposium (Eco-friendly Electronic Device Applications) to celebrate the retirement of Prof. Yoon-Bong Hahn who has devoted a long time for MCARE.

In this conference, we encourage interdisciplinary interactions with a focus on discussions pertaining to new concepts and advanced knowledge, with the hope of converting novel technologies into practical applications and future advancements.

So please do consider attending this unique conference. We look forward to welcoming you to the beautiful port city of Busan, Korea.
